Pastor Craig. Romans chapter 8:1-16 Life in the spirit.
Romans 8
- **Life in the Spirit vs. Life in the Flesh (Rom 8:1–11)**
- There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
- Believers are freed from the law of sin and death through the Holy Spirit.
- The Spirit dwells in believers, enabling them to live righteously and to put to death the misdeeds of the body.
- The mind governed by the Spirit leads to life and peace.
- **Future Glory for Believers (Rom 8:12–25)**
- Believers are adopted as God’s children and have the Spirit as a guarantee.
- Creation awaits the revelation of the sons of God; creation is subjected to frustration, but it longs for redemption.
- We groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies.
- The Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
- **The Spirit Helps in Weakness (Rom 8:26–27)**
- The Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us according to God’s will.
- **God’s Everlasting Purpose (Rom 8:28–30)**
- God works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
- Those whom He foreknew, He predestined, conformed to the image of His Son, and those He called, justified, and glorified.
- **Security of Believers (Rom 8:31–39)**
- If God is for us, who can be against us?
- Christ intercedes for us; nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
