George Wrenn celebration of life.

George William Wrenn, III, age 73, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born in Buncombe County and a resident of Flat Rock, NC. He was a 1971 graduate of Enka High School. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend.


George was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force, where he served with distinction as an Air Force Security Police office in Thailand. After his military service he received an Associate degree from Greenville Technical College in Aviation Maintenance and was employed at Stevens Aviation in Greenville, SC. He later worked at Blue Ridge Mountain Water and A-1 Small Engines. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Hendersonville Chapter.


Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting snakes, deer, boar and downed airplanes. He further showed his craftsmanship in building bird houses and small furniture.


He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Lee Wrenn; sister, Cynthia Wrenn Phillips; brother-in-law Jeff Phillips and his uncle John Wrenn. 


George’s legacy of kindness and dedication to family endures. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Cindy Wrenn; his sons, Paul Wrenn (Erika) of Goldsboro, NC and Hunter Wrenn (Jessie) of Rutherfordton, NC; four grandchildren Gabe, Izzy, Jackson, EvaLynne; his sisters Grover Rose Irons of Watchula FL, Karen Wrenn Stewart (Jerry) of Mills River, NC and Sharon Wrenn of Leicester, NC; nieces Kimberly Driver (Kyle) of Monroe and Kelly Ngan (Gil) of Elllicot City, MD. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.


A Celebration of Life will be held at four o’clock on Friday March 13, 2026 at Fruitland Baptist Church, 100 College Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792 with Pastor Craig Stepp officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Fruitland Baptist Church Building Fund or The Storehouse pantry, PO Box 6146, Hendersonville, NC 28793; both were causes dear to George’s heart.


Though he has departed from this world, George leaves behind a legacy of Love, service, and enduring faith. May his memory forever be a blessing.
