Embracing God’s Guidance on the Journey Ahead (Graduation Sunday 2025)

May 25, 2025    Pastor Craig Stepp

Join us as we celebrate the graduates, family, and friends, as today marks a significant milestone in your lives—a moment of celebration, reflection, and anticipation. Graduation is not merely the end of an academic chapter but a gateway to new responsibilities, opportunities, and challenges. As you stand on this threshold, I want to encourage you from a biblical perspective rooted in conservative values to keep your trust firmly anchored in God.

**1. Recognize the Sovereignty of God**

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9, *"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."* As you plan your future—whether it involves further education, entering the workforce, or serving others—remember that ultimately, your life is in God's hands. Trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He has a divine purpose for your life.

**2. Seek Wisdom and Guidance from Scripture**

Proverbs 2:6 teaches us, *"For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."* As you face decisions about careers, relationships, and morals, turn to God's Word for wisdom. The Bible provides timeless principles that guide us in righteousness and integrity—values that are essential for a life that has an eternal impact.

**3. Live Out Your Faith with Courage and Conviction**

In a society that often promotes relativism and moral compromise, stand firm in your faith. Romans 12:2 urges us not to conform to the pattern of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Your conduct, words, and choices should reflect biblical truth and love. Be a light in the darkness, showing others the hope found in Christ.

**4. Prioritize Family, Community, and Service**

Conservative values emphasize the importance of family and community. Ephesians 6:1-3 reminds children to honor their parents and underscores the value of respecting authority. Use your education and position to serve others, uphold truth, and contribute positively to society.

**5. Commit to a Life of Integrity**

Remember Psalm 15:1-2: *"Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart."* Integrity and honesty are the foundation of a life well-lived. Let your actions be consistent with your faith and values.

Graduates, as you step into the future, do so with confidence rooted in God's promises. Proverbs 3:5-6 assures us that if we trust in the Lord and submit to Him, He will direct our paths. May your pursuit of success be tempered with humility, your ambitions guided by biblical principles, and your lives marked by service and love.

Remember, the greatest achievement is to serve God faithfully and to live a life that honors Him. May He bless you abundantly as you start this new chapter.

**Congratulations, and may God's peace and wisdom be with you always
