Ministering to Those Struggling with Same-Sex Attraction.
Join us as Pastor Steve Scoggins, former pastor of FBC Hendersonville, shares a heartfelt and impactful message this morning.
We are under increasing pressure to endorse the LGBT lifestyle. Romans 1:32
Churches must remember to keep the focus on the love of God for every person. John 3:16
“God loves every person. The Bible teaches us the best way of life. The Bible does not condone LGBT actions”
We are all broken.
Romans 1:27 is an accurate description of the homosexual lifestyle.
There is hope for those struggling with same sex attraction. 1 Cor. 6:9-11
Conclusion: how should we relate to loved ones and friends in this lifestyle?
Romans 1:26-27- For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Romans 1:32- Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
2. Churches must remember to keep the focus on the love of God for every person.

5. There is hope for those struggling with same sex attraction.
1 Cor. 6:9-11- Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God
Dan Yeary gave this response to a member who asked him, “Do you want homosexuals to come to our church?” He replied, “Yes. I want adulterers, liars, bigots, drunks and drug addicts to come too. We will love them as Christ does but we will not condone some of their choices or permit the normalization of their lifestyle. But we will keep preaching to all the same message of hope: Jesus loves you as you are but loves you too much to leave you that way.”
